    • Mimosa Fruit Salad

    Why we love this recipe

There is nothing like a good old fashioned fruit salad to round out any meal, from your favorite bacon and eggs breakfast to the perfect lunchtime sandwich and yes, even with a winner of a chicken dinner.

And of course, it’s the perfect good and good for you dessert. And almost as delicious as the salad itself is the fact that it just calls for chopping up fruit and mixing it together and voila! Finished!

The only thing that could make a fruit salad even better (and with almost zero work?) Adding some mimosa as the ultimate fruit salad dressing.

What is a mimosa and how do you make one?

A mimosa is the one cocktail I can make completely from memory, because it is half orange juice and half champagne or Prosecco.

Here’s a great recipe if you decide to try it for yourself, which I highly recommend doing while you are making a mimosa fruit salad!

    Ingredients you need

Mimosa fruit salad ingredients on the counter.

    Ingredient notes and substitutions

    • Prosecco: Prosecco is a sparkling white wine that is similar to Champagne (and you can also use Champagne for this recipe…or a sparkling rose wine!)
    • Fruit: We love this particular combo of watermelon, strawberries and blueberries for this recipe, but you can swap in absolutely any kind of fruit you want! Especially whatever happens to be in season at the moment.
    • Mint: A scattering of chopped mint leaves is optional but so delicious (and pretty!)

See the recipe card for full information on ingredients and quantities and nutritional information.

    How to make this recipe

Watermelon strawberries and blueberries mixed in a bowl.

STEP 1: Combine all the fruit you are using in a pretty bowl and gently toss it up.

A bowl of mimosa fruit salad with a spoon.

STEP 2: Combine some orange juice and champagne or prosecco in a measuring cup and drizzle it over the salad. Garnish with some mint leaves and serve it up!

    Recipe FAQs

Can I use different fruits for this recipe?

Absolutely! I picked out these fruits because they are my faves, but the sky is the limit in terms of what you choose. Other kinds of melon, pineapple, blackberries and peach slices would all be great choices.

Can I make this salad ahead of time?

You can definitely prepare the fruit ahead of time, but add the juice and champagne at the last minute so the bubbles are fresh.

Is there a way to make this non-alcoholic?

Yep! Swap in some lemon-lime seltzer or soda for the champagne to get the bubbles without the buzz.

    Have a question that I didn’t answer?

Ask it in the comment section below and I will get back to you pronto!

I think this is a salad that we can all agree makes brunch a little merrier, right? And cheers to that!

Want to round out your brunch?

This salad goes perfectly with any meal, but we especially love it with brunch. Whip up some perfect fried eggs with this foolproof method, and pair them with some brown sugar bacon.

And since you have orange juice on hand, how about some Orange Juice Crumb Cake?

Canโ€™t wait to try this; sounds so good! Very similar to a recipe I have for a Mojito fresh fruit salad except it relies on a dressing of lime juice and simple syrup. As for the mint, the fragrance and taste are absolute flavor enhancers, so, do not leave out of either salad. I always chiffonade the mint and mix it throughout the fruit. Whole leaves are a beautiful garnish on top. I did not rate it as I havenโ€™t made it yet, but, I know, it will be 5 star recipe!
