The big meal is over, but there is everything from leftover turkey and ham to stuffing and mashed potatoes and apple pie. Make sure you get your fair share, because when it comes to Thanksgiving leftovers…
…WE HAVE IDEAS.
Starting our with our very favorite post-Thanksgiving soup!
#1: Thanksgiving Leftovers Soup
Wonderful idea, we love this soup. It’s flexible too – I had less gravy leftover so I used more chicken stock, and it was still delicious. I especially liked using mashed potatoes as thickener – much more appealing texture than corn starch. Served it with biscuits right out of the oven. I’ll definitely be making this again next year! ~ Robin
This soup is literally as easy as putting everything from turkey to stuffing to veggies to gravy to mashed potatoes in a pot with some chicken broth and heating it up…it magically transforms into a thick and hearty soup.
#2: Grandma’s Turkey Soup
DELICIOUS!!! Made this exactly as recipe indicated and it was so good! I think it’s the best leftover carcass soup I’ve had! Made it last year and it was such a big hit that it’s a request after each Thanksgiving from now on! ~ Barbara
Want to make the traditional turkey soup with the leftover bones? Here’s your recipe! Packed with veggies and hearty barley, it’s the soup your grandma makes…and now you can make it too!
#3: Thanksgiving Casserole
I made this last night. It was delicious! …a mixture of everything Thanksgiving dinner wise in one spoonful. Yummy!! ~ CA
This super easy recipe layers all those leftovers into a casserole and bakes it up to perfection. It’s like living Thanksgiving all over again, but in casserole form!
#4: Ham Macaroni and Cheese
This is such a great way to get some protein into mac and cheese for my picky eater. Love this recipe! ~ Olivia
Did you have ham on your Thanksgiving menu? Pull out that leftover ham, chop it up, stir it into a creamy stovetop macaroni and cheese and watch them come back for seconds!
#5: Mashed Potato Gnocchi
Thank you. I love gnocchi, but have never found a good store bought gnocchi and have never been successful making it in the past, but this recipe is wonderful! ~ Kristi
Mix your leftover mashed potatoes with a little flour, roll them out and cut them into the easiest, most delicious gnocchi! This is a great recipe to make with the kiddos.
So remember, be first in line when the leftovers are being given out…they are the gift that keeps on giving!
