why we love this recipe
A few days ago I whipped up one of my favorite summer cocktails, a super easy strawberry basil margarita, and once I had gotten a taste of that summertime wonderfulness, all kinds of ideas started spinning in my head about other potential ways I could margarita things.
(Margarita can be a verb, right? I think it can.)
Anyway, the next cool and scrumptious cocktail recipe came to me in a flash, so may I present…the peach mint margarita. Juicy peaches, fresh mint and tequila all whirled together and shaken up into icy deliciousness.
Five minutes to make it. A whole lazy summer evening to enjoy. Let’s do this thing!
ingredients you need
ingredient notes and substitutions
- Peaches: During peach season you want to get the ones from your local farm stand if you can, but I’ve also made these with frozen peaches and it’s been almost as good.
- Simple Syrup: This is simply (ha!) sugar dissolved in water, and I use my friend Ree’s recipe for simple syrup to make my own. You can also find it premade for you near the other mixers wherever you procure your tequila. 😎
- Mint: You can find this in fresh produce section of your grocery store. It’s the secret ingredient that makes this margarita so fabulous!
- Lemon Juice: I always use fresh, but in a pinch bottled lemon juice will work.
how to make this recipe
STEP 1: Put peach chunks, 1 sprig of mint, the lemon juice and the simple syrup in a blender and process until well blended.
STEP 2: Pour mixture into a cocktail shaker (or if you are me, a mason jar with a lid…I’m fancy that way). Add the tequila and some ice, put the lid on the shaker or your jar and shake shake shake. Shake one more time for good luck.
Pour the contents into your favorite glass, garnish with that other mint sprig and say cheers!
recipe FAQ
You can if you want to – I usually just give mine a thorough scrub and leave the peel on. If you do want to peel them, the best way is to run a paring knife gently around the peach twice (so the peel is cut in quarters), drop them in boiling water for about a minute and scoop them out. The peel will come right off like magic!
You can! It’s as easy as leaving out the tequila. If you want to add a little sass, pour 2 ounces of club soda into each serving.

The perfect summer cocktail! Such a great way to use leftover peaches!
Yes! It’s even worth braving the heat to go out and get new peaches – ha!

Kate… I have stopped drinking alcohol..personal choice, recent illness and medication that prohibits. Wondering if you might come up with any mocktail recipes??
I suppose one could just leave out the liquor?
This looks yummy btw!
Hi my friend and oh no about the recent illness – I hope you are very much on the mend! I will definitely work on that – here’s a favorite one that I created when we were on the Whole 30 program (no alcohol allowed).

And yes, for many of my drink recipes you can simply leave out the liquor. xoxo!

You just had to put this recipe up the year my peach tree is NOT producing peaches. :( But…I’m sure I could find some good ones at the farmer’s market. Just hate having to pay for them when they are usually free to me. Fuzzy navel slush is a frozen cocktail we make in very large batches and stash in the freezer so all you have to do is scoop some out and add a splash of something fizzy and sip away!
Wait, you have a peach tree??? And I need to know how to make fuzzy navel slush! xo
