Lemonade meets iced tea in this cool combination of two favorite summer drinks! This easy recipe for lemonade mint iced tea (sometimes known as an Arnold Palmer) is so quick and easy to mix together, it’s sure to become your go-to summer beverage.
This one is going to be short and sweet, but I needed to get this up here before summer starts in earnest, because everyone needs to have a good, dependable iced tea recipe in their back pocket. And this one ups the iced tea game by adding lemonade and mint!
Now, I am a big fan of something called the Arnold Palmer, which is basically a mixture of half iced tea and half lemonade. I have no earthly idea why this is called an Arnold Palmer, although I think a safe bet is that Arnold Palmer used to drink glasses of half lemonade and half iced tea? And if so we all owe him a big thank you, because that is a genius combo.
Lemonade meets iced tea meets mint in this cool combination of two favorite summer drinks! The only way that I could think it make it even more wonderfully cool was to add a few mint sprigs as the tea was steeping, and you will be surprised how this simple little addition adds another layer of flavor to what is officially my favorite summer beverage that doesn’t have the word “margarita” in the title.
Happy lazy summer days to you!

Have a big pot of different mints growing on my deck and followed your directions for mint iced tea today. I am enjoying a glass right now and it is just wonderful. Plan on trying the lemonade mint tea next. Since I love lemon, am sure it is just as delicious. Thanks for the recipes,

I’m so glad! My mint is going crazy right now – I may have to have a cup myself today!

there's nothing like a good lemonade mint iced tea in a hot day, just put your hammock under a tree shadow, take a deep nap, and a good glass of this delicious drink, of course share it with someone, taste better with someone to your side.

our little local restaurant around here calls it a "Palmerade" but since I drink it constantly, my kids have always called it a "Momerade" :)
Never made it with frozen concentrate, but I bet it adds a nice depth or richness to it that I would enjoy. Will try it that way this afternoon!
Thanks!

I also love iced tea and lemonade together, but I had no idea it was called an Arnold Palmer. I'm always making new summer drinks and this is definitely refreshing. Glad you shared it.

I adore Arnold Palmers and have decided that for my cookout for the in laws this weekend, I'm starting my menu planning with this, and working my way out from there. :)

Hi Kate – here's my favorite, introduced to me years ago by my friend Karyl Bannister, author of the Cook & Tell almost-monthly newsletter, published on Southport Island, Maine. I try to keep a pitcher of this in my fridge all summer long!
Fill a medium-sized saucepan with water and bring to a boil. Turn off heat and add 5 "regular" tea bags (I just use Lipton for this) and 5 Celestial Seasonings Raspberry Zinger tea bags. Let steep for about 15 minutes. Remove tea bags and add 1/2 cup sugar, stirring to dissolve completely. Pour into a pitcher large enough to fill 1/2 way with the tea, then fill up the pitcher with cold water. Add lemon to taste and stir well.
If you want to check out Cook & Tell, which I heartily recommend as a great read, see http://www.cookandtell.com.

I took the liberty of googling Arnold Palmer for you and found the following:
One of Arnold Palmer's favorite drinks is a combination of half iced tea and half lemonade, a drink which is often referred to as an "Arnold Palmer" in his honor. It is now available under the name "The Original Arnold Palmer Tee", due to the fact that he is a famous American golfer!

I've always felt a bit self-conscious calling it an Arnold Palmer so I avoid the name and ask for 1/2 tea, 1/2 lemonade. We should invent a new name for the drink–it's my favorite.
I just planted mint so I can spruce up my tea this summer. This recipe sounds perfect.
