Drain and transfer to 5 quart slow cooker. Stir in all remaining ingredients, mix well.
Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours.
Serve over your favorite pasta. Happy sigh.
Notes
Ground Beef: We usually use 80/20% fat content ground beef for this recipe, however you can swap in ground turkey if you prefer.
Sugar: The sugar is in here to mellow the acidic flavor of the tomatoes. You can cut it in half if you want to – your pasta sauce will have a little sharper flavor but will still be delicious.
Onion: We recommend a sweet onion for this recipe, but regular white and yellow onions work well too.
