This easy recipe for Banana Brownies combines two favorite flavors and is the perfect way to use up those ripe bananas!

- ¾ cup butter, melted
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (approximately 2 bananas)
- ¼ cup cocoa powder
- ¾ cup flour
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
- Preheat the oven to 350 F and grease and line an 8×8-inch square pan with parchment paper.
- Put the butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and mashed banana in a mixing bowl and whisk until they are all combined.
- Take another mixing bowl and whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Fold the flour mixture into the bowl with the butter mixture until they are all mixed together.
- Fold in the mini chocolate chips.
- Scrape the batter into the baking pan and bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick poked into the center of the brownies comes out clean.
- Cool the brownies in the pan for about 15 minutes before moving them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice into 16 squares and serve.

- Bananas: You need about a cup of mashed bananas, which is about 2 medium sized ones (nice and ripe!). Don’t worry if it isn’t totally exact.

- Cocoa Powder: You are needing unsweetened cocoa powder, which you can find in the baking aisle (not to be confused with powdered hot cocoa).

- Chocolate Chips: The mini ones work the best to hold these tender brownies together. They are also in the baking aisle.
