This week’s meal planner includes a few easy recipes to help celebrate both National Wine Day and National Burger Day…and one of my favorite ways to use fresh local strawberries in a refreshing dessert!
Hi my friends, and here comes our meal planner for the last (can you believe it??) week of May! Scroll down to the bottom if you want to get right to the recipes.
We have two Very Important Days coming up this week, starting with May 25, which is National Wine Day! And while I am all for having a lovely glass of Pinot Noir on any day of the year, I figured I would offer up a recipe that includes wine as an ingredient, so please say hello to one of my faves, Chicken in White Wine Sauce.
And not only is May National Burger Month (and here’s my round-up of my ten favorite burgers), May 28 is National Burger DAY.
Which I think means we are legally required to eat burgers on that day, and just so you can get as many burgers in as possible, I’m suggesting some melty Cheesesteak Sliders. I know, not EXACTLY a burger, but close enough!
For all you seafood lovers out there, can I interest you in some Lemon Garlic Lobster Pasta? This recipe has been trending up on the blog lately, and I have a feeling it’s because it pretty much tastes like summer on a plate.
Or if you are in a shrimp mood, this easy peasy Pan Roasted Shrimp Salad is my current go-to shrimp recipe. YUM.
Our Light Meal of the week are these Ham, Parmesan and Jam sandwiches. It’s a sweet and salty explosion of flavor – don’t you just love an open-faced sandwich?
And you know I didn’t forget dessert! Whirl up some Strawberry Banana Sorbet (no ice cream maker required), and in case you missed it, here’s my how to guide to everything you need to know about fresh strawberries!
As always, we will be sharing another new menu next Saturday morning, full of dinners that feature seasonal ideas and ingredients (and dessert!)
And as usual, I’m not giving you a recipe for all seven days of the week, because I’m a firm believer in taking a day or two off from the kitchen. This will also give you the chance to work in some of your own favorites – or just do takeout!
You can always find our previous menus here, in case you want to mix things up!
