Got leftover pie? Turn it into a brand new dessert by whirling up some leftover pie milkshakes with this fast and easy recipe!

leftover pie milkshake

I’m deliberately posting this Thanksgiving leftovers recipe BEFORE Thanksgiving so that you can be extra sure to get your mitts on at least one piece of leftover Thanksgiving pie.

Because not only is Thanksgiving pie fabulous on Thanksgiving, but you will be extra thankful that you snagged a piece sinceit gives you the chance to make the five minute miracle that is Leftover Pie Milkshakes.

Here’s How You Make Leftover Pie Milkshakes!

Take that piece of pie (I used pumpkin pie for that picture up there, but apple pie works, chocolate cream pie works, and I’m guessing pretty much every pie under the sun works).  Break it up into chunks and drop it into your blender.

Now add some ice cream and some milk, put the top on the blender and push the On button.  Let everything whirl around until it is pureed into milkshake smoothness.

Pour it into two ice cream dishes, top with with some whipped cream, and in the case of this pumpkin pie milkshake I sprinkled on some cinnamon sugar.  Keep one for yourself and share the other with some lucky someone.

And since this recipe was so delightfully quick, it gives me the chance to list a few things I am extra grateful for this year!  First off…

bride and groom

…THIS.  Our sweet Southern daughter married the love of her life, and we got the world’s best son-in-law.  Pure, beautiful joy.

And now there is this…

…the very beginning of our Carolina Dream House, which is getting more and more real every day.

And as always, my wonderful friends and family who I am grateful for every single day.  Especially this character…

southern husband

Always and forever my knight in shining armor.

And last but never ever least, all of you who take time out of your day to read my blog and send me your sweet comments and emails.  I’m so grateful.  I’m so lucky.  And I wish you and yours a joyous, delicious Thanksgiving.

And don’t forget to nab a piece of leftover pie!

Love, Kate xo

I cheated on dessert this year. Since I was making the entire dinner, and pie crust is my nemesis, I opted for chocolate peanut butter fluff and cup refrigerator dessert. Can’t beat Oreo crust topped with peanut butter and cream cheese fluff, chopped peanut butter cups, dark chocolate pudding, cool whip and more chopped peanut buttercups. Too bad there is none of that left over. I’m guessing it would have made for a delicious “pie” milkshake.
