This recipe for easy chocolate peanut butter truffles come together quickly with no baking needed! The perfect holiday gift from the kitchen.
Oh, this easy chocolate peanut butter truffle recipe! It is such a quick one to whip together, and of course the combo of sweet chocolate and salty peanut butter is a classic! And absolutely perfect for the holidays, when I think we are pretty much Constitutionally Obligated to eat chocolate in whatever form comes our way. It also makes a fun and festive holiday gift for the kitchen.
Those are enough reasons to drop everything and grab the chocolate and peanut butter, right? Let’s make them!
In addition to those reasons above, we have our own happy reasons for chocolate celebrations around these parts. Yep. We are down to double digits in the wedding countdown, and things are getting very real around here.
Over the next several weeks we have two cake tastings, the first wedding dress fitting, and the hair and make-up trial. Oh, and this.
That’s right, Christmas is happening in the midst of all that wedding excitement. And my birthday. And the Southern daughter’s birthday. And the Southern husband and my anniversary. ALL WITHIN ONE TWO WEEK PERIOD.
Oh! And (also within that two week period) we are flying down to South Carolina to see the Southern daughter walk at the Clemson University graduation ceremony, where she is receiving her master’s degree in Early Childhood Education.
And last but not least, our Clemson Tigers are playing the Southern daughter’s best friend’s Notre Dame fighting Irish, so you KNOW we are having a tailgate party smack in the middle of my living room. I’d say all of that calls for extra chocolate, am I right? Enter these easy peasy truffles.
They are a super easy mixture of chocolate, peanut butter, regular butter and confectioner’s sugar.
Mix them up, scoop them out, chill them down, sprinkle them with a little more sugar, and that’s it. Perfect if you (like me) have over-extended your very happy and exciting holiday to-do list. Hurray for chocolate!

Description
This recipe for easy chocolate peanut butter truffles come together quickly with no baking needed! The perfect holiday gift from the kitchen.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 ounces semisweet chocolate (I like the Ghiradelli brand!)
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter (see note)
- 1 1/2 cups confectioner’s sugar
Instructions
- Chop the chocolate up (and if you are using mini-morsels you don’t even need to chop!) and put it in a microwave safe bowl with the butter. Microwave the mixture in 30 second intervals until melted, stirring after each 30 seconds.
- Add the peanut butter to the melted chocolate and stir until well mixed (this is easiest with a hand mixer). Add a cup of the confectioner’s sugar and mix until everything is smooth and well-combined.
- Put a silicone mat or a piece of parchment paper on a cookie sheet. Using a teaspoon or a small melon baller, scoop out teaspoon-full scoops of the truffle mixture and put on the sheet. Don’t worry if they don’t look perfect – we are going to dust them with powdered sugar later and all will be well!
- Put the truffles in the freezer for about 15 minutes so they firm up. Sprinkle them with confectioner’s sugar and serve.
- If these all don’t get eaten right away (Ha!), store them in the fridge.
Notes
You can substitute in almond butter for peanut butter if you like!
I’m at work having tr worst day ever and it’s only 10:30. So I will be going home tonight and making these and hiding all from everyone! I’m pretty sure they’re medicinal.
Oh NO!! Well, these are going to make you feel much better, I promise! Sending good vibes your way that your day gets better! xo
They would be medicinal with the addition of bourbon, whiskey, dark rum, etc.!
The possibilities are endless, right? :) :)
Sounds so good! Natural peanut butter or just regular?
Hi Sue! I use regular peanut butter, both for the consistency and the flavor (as you know it’s a bit sweeter than natural). But if you try this recipe with natural, can you let me know how it turns out? :)
Thanks for another easy recipe. I’m going to make these for gift-giving. Your plans for the next two weeks make me tired just reading about them. Have a Merry Christmas & a happy wedding, birthday, anniversary. Ho-ho-ho!
Martha! Happiest of holidays from my family to yours. xo
These were absolutely amazing. I made these for Christmas Eve and honestly they went in a flash. So so good.
