Creamy spicy green goddess dressing makes a fabulous marinade, dip and yes, salad dressing! Whirl some up in your blender and try it…I’m betting you will use it in all kinds of ways all summer long!
Green Goddess dressing has the most perfect name EVER, because if ever there was a salad dressing that deserves to be called a goddess it’s this one. Because it is the perfect combo of spicy and creamy. Because it is full of fresh summer herbs that give it that gorgeous green color. Because you can whirl it up in your blender in about 10 seconds.
Because it is not only your new favorite salad dressing, but it’s your new favorite dip and marinade. Do you need any other reasons to have a mason jar full of this wonderfulness in your fridge At All Times? Let’s make it!
Green Goddess dressing got its start back in the 1920’s in San Francisco (a city I will love forever because that is where the Southern husband proposed to me) and like so many goddesses that I know, it is not only beautiful but multi-talented.
Let’s Make Green Goddess Dressing!
First, the dressing itself: whirl up some mayo and buttermilk with scallions, parsley, tarragon, lemon juice and garlic and season it up with salt and pepper. That’s going to give you a lovely creamy tangy spicy salad dressing that is perfect with substantial lettuces like romaine and iceberg. Yum, YUM.

Nope – if you stir in a enough mayo to thicken it up into dip consistency, you have a smooth and sassy dip that is perfect for everything from carrot sticks to tortilla chips. BUT THAT’S NOT ALL.
Pour a generous amount of Green Goddess over chicken pieces and let them marinate for a few hours, and then grill them up to spicy green goddess perfection, and serve with a drizzle of Green Goddess on top.
I’m thinking you now understand why every fridge needs a jar of Green Goddess dressing in it. Especially yours! Happy Green Goddessing.Print
