Today I am kicking off a new monthly feature on Framed Cooks that I am calling Cookbook Sunday. I love so many of my cookbooks so very much, and as those of you who have been reading this blog for a while know, they are my favorite things to give away to you guys. You love ’em, I love ’em, and so I thought, why not make this a regular thing? So on the first Sunday of every month I’m going to talk about one of my new faves, and then give three of them away to you so you can love them too. And I’m starting things off with a book that is technically a cookbook but is also so much more – the purely delightful RELISH by Daphne Oz.
I got my mitts on an early copy, and at first I fell in love with this beautiful book for the recipes.
I mean, Roasted Cauliflower Grilled Cheese with Jalapeno Aioli…nobody in their right mind could resist that one, right? And the book is chockfull of fun and creative deliciousness like that one.
But what really hooked me was all the other fun stuff surrounding the recipes. The theme of this book is relishing life – the sheer fun of it all – and I completely loved Daphne’s creative and practical ideas for everything from how to navigate the supermarket to how to get red wine stains out of your favorite blouse (been there!) to how to throw a dinner party to how to set a pretty table to the fact that champagne really DOES need to have fresh raspberries floating in it.
I could go on and on, but instead I think I will just pipe down and give away three copies of this lovely book, and here’s how this will work: leave me a comment below with your best suggestion for how to relish life. For me, it’s taking the time every evening after work to curl up with the Southern husband and talk about the best thing that happened that day. Even on crabby days, we always seem to be able to come up something and I always feel better…and then we cook dinner and I feel even happier!
