The Dahlia Bakery Winners!

Oh my goodness, did the comments for this particular contest make me hungry!  (My own fault, since I specifically asked for your favorite thing to get at the bakery!)  And what I learned was that your favorite things to get at the bakery are croissants, cinnamon buns and eclairs, with scones not far behind, and guys, I am right there with you…yum, yum, yum and yum again!

I also learned about some absolutely delectable things that I had never heard of before…Sfogliatelle, Paczki, finger buns and something called a Melting Moment, which was described as ”an extremely ‘short, melt in the mouth biscuit and at LEAST a 1/4″ of butter cream icing as filling using vanilla extract.”  If anyone has a recipe for Melting Moments, please let me know, as I don’t think I can live the rest of my life without making them.

Karen, who said: oh Bakery treats! A treat I grew up with was a Butterhorn from the local bakery. We would go on Saturday to the bakery and pick them up fresh. It was a treat reserved only for Sunday mornings before church. My mom would warm them and then a bit of butter… I can still taste them.
